During a recent concert in Incheon, K-pop group Seventeen experienced a special effects malfunction when fireworks unexpectedly fell into the audience, injuring two fans. The group’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, issued a statement apologizing for the incident and confirming that the issue was caused by a defective product.
Agency Apologizes and Takes Action
Pledis Entertainment, part of the larger agency Hybe, stated that while a professional company had conducted safety checks and set up safe distances for the fireworks, some of the products were found to be faulty. The agency apologized for the “discomfort” and “startling” nature of the incident and has promised to actively support the injured fans with their treatment. To prevent a similar event, the agency announced that the specific defective fireworks product will not be used in the next concert, and a more thorough safety inspection will be conducted for all special effects.
