Indian shuttler PV Sindhu secured her spot in the Round of 16 at the BWF World Championships by defeating Malaysia’s Karupathevan Letshanaa in a hard-fought match. Sindhu, ranked 15th in the world, won in straight sets with a score of 21-19, 21-15. In the men’s doubles, the Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also advanced.
A Challenging Victory
The match was not easy for Sindhu, especially in the first game. She found herself trailing 14-18 but mounted a strong comeback, scoring four consecutive points to tie the game and eventually win it 21-19. The second game was a different story, with Sindhu taking an early lead and maintaining control to secure the 21-15 victory. She will now face a tough opponent in the next round: World No. 2 and reigning China Open champion, Wang Zhi Yi.
